DAY 1

DAY 1

The Unpoppable Magic Bubble Day (outdoors): In this adventure, children can hold the magic of Science in their own hands. Bringing the intuitive scientist within them, and adding some mental ingredients such as patience and concentration, children learn to create giant soap bubbles and catch, manipulate, divide and multiply them without popping the bubbles.

DAY 2

DAY 2

The Book of Learnings (indoors): In this adventure, we create a backwards puzzle on a big canvas with acrylic paints and brushes. Children follow the mission cards to collaboratively paint paths and villages, dance movements, and other elements based on imagination, music, feelings and team work. Each piece of the puzzle becomes the famous and honorable Book of Learnings that the kids receive after the mission is accomplished.

DAY 3

DAY 3

Spying on Humanity (outdoors): In this adventure, we are given the mission to spy on human behavior. Dressed with detective props we go to the park and set up the observation base. There we find an unexpected scene. A mother arrives just when the nanny has lost the kid. She goes nuts! One moment after, the kid is back. There are many emotions and behaviors happening that the children witness. Back in the detective room, we re-watch the scene recorded, and we interrogate the actresses to complete the River of Emotions Board where we map the events, behaviors and emotions as they happened.

This adventure is intentionally designed to cultivate empathy and social emotional learning literacy. It is inspired in the most recent theories of Cognitive Science and Social Emotional Learning . Children will learn tricks and techniques to better understand and process emotions and behaviors. The adventure is co-designed with Melissa Cesarano, Columbia University Professor of Cognitive Science and Social-Emotional Learning, and Sami Sutcliffe, Partner at Future Clear Productions.

DAY 4

Dance Scientists (indoors): in this adventure, children will connect emotionally, physically and creatively to themselves and the group through music, creative expression, and free movement. Children will be able to learn a new language for expressing their feelings, through fun games that prompt them to use their imagination to move their bodies. This adventure was co-created with Nessa Norich and Shine On in Schools.

DAY 5

Cards for Empathy (indoors/ outdoors): in this adventure, children play theatrical improvisation games based on the Cards for Empathy, designed for kids to play different roles and explore feelings and behaviors and patterns in a fun, playful and judgment-free way. This adventures is co-created with Amy Silverman and the Connection Movement.
