In our afterschool programs in Prospect Park, children ages 5 to 11 dive into hours of imaginative, hands-on play in nature. The Wonder Kids invent imaginary worlds, experiment with arts and crafts, learn group games, and build fantastic structures such as bridges, forts, forest hotels, and even igloos. We provide a nourishing snack and, more importantly, the freedom, trust, and respect they need to be fully themselves.

We want to be a foundational part of your child’s education, so we have expanded our offerings for full-year after school for the 2026-2027 school year.

Our flagship after school program takes place in the “Wonder Village” - a whimsical forest in Prospect Park where kids feel confident to play freely with their friends and within the agreed upon boundaries. We set up creative stations to inspire imaginative play, and they do the rest!
With props, costumes, building supplies, and mysterious scrolls with missions, every day becomes a unique adventure where children develop their own games, characters, and stories through free play. Here, the Wonder Kids are free to engage with the natural world and build authentic relationships with other children.
Wonderers have the chance to find wonder in the real world, and our mixed age group allows older kids to build leadership and become role models for their younger peers while younger kids feel inspired by having good examples of friendship and fun!
Join us for a nomadic experience all year round! During out adventurers after school, Wonder Kids in grades 3-5 shape the adventure together. Each day, they choose where to go in the park, practice real world outdoor skills like making fire, and design their own games and challenges.
They learn from talented local artists who inspire them by demonstrating diverse forms of creative self-expression.
By practicing collective decision making, they build strong relational skills that help them be better friends and form lasting bonds.

Join us for free, creative play in English and Spanish! Our brains learn very quickly through play, so Wonder Kids with any level of exposure to these languages are welcome to join us for our new bilingual program near Grand Army Plaza this fall and spring.
Like always, we will receive exciting missions, become new characters with fantastic costumes, and step into our imaginative worlds in the Wonder Village, but this time, in two languages!
We are excited to launch this program as part of our goal to create globally responsible citizens who interact with all of the cultures around them.
