AFTER SCHOOL
Give your child the gift to play freely and creatively in nature!
In our afterschool programs in Prospect Park, children ages 5 to 11 dive into hours of imaginative, hands-on play in the woods. They invent imaginary worlds, experiment with arts and crafts, learn group games, and build fantastic structures such as bridges, forts, forest hotels, and even igloos. We provide a nourishing snack and, more importantly, the freedom, trust and respect they need to be fully themselves.

All kids, Adventurers and Wonderers, are welcome to join us for free, creative play. During fall and spring, we will be in the Wonder Village - a magical forest in the park. During winter, we play in and around the Picnic House for a hybrid indoor-outdoor program.
Our mixed age group program allows older kids to build leadership and become role models for their younger peers while younger kids feel inspired by having good examples of friendship and fun!

WONDERERS
THURSDAYS AT THE WONDER VILLAGE (by Litchfield villa)

Our main outdoor after school program takes place during fall and spring in the “Wonder Village” - a whimsical forest in Prospect Park where kids feel confident to play freely with their friends and within the agreed upon boundaries. We set up creative stations to inspire imaginative play, and they do the rest!
With props, costumes, building supplies, and mysterious scrolls with missions, every day becomes a unique adventure where children develop their own games, characters, and stories through free play. Here, the Wonder Kids are free to engage with the natural world and build authentic relationships with other children.

Join us for a new, nomadic experience during fall and spring! Wonder Kids in grades 2-5 shape the adventure together. Each day, they choose where to go in the park, practice real world outdoor skills like making fire, and design their own games and challenges.
They learn from talented local artists who inspire them by demonstrating diverse forms of creative self-expression.
By practicing collective decision making, they build strong relational skills that help them be better friends and form lasting bonds.
