Environmental Education

Science through the lens of wonder

School of Wonder is committed to providing experiential programs that follow an action-oriented curriculum focused on environmental awareness. Our programs teach elementary school children about our shared planet, while engaging them in wonder-filled fantasy quests to become committed stewards of the earth.

Meet these wonderful Guardians of the Earth collecting trash to save Gaia 10,000 of work disintegrating it!

At the School of Wonder, kids learn about natural phenomena through poetic explorations and scientific investigations. After discovering nature’s balances and imbalances, they are prompted to take action. Through various activities like park clean-ups, social intervention through civic engagement, and making earth-friendly changes in their lives, children begin to understand the impacts that humans have on the planet while also becoming empowered about their ability to make a difference!

By experiencing nature through the guidance of the mythological character Gaia, Mother Earth, Wonder Kids can explore the state of our environment through a lens of wonder and curiosity instead of fear. They find ways to be active global citizens committed to the regeneration of the planet.

In addition to the environmental focus of our programs, our curriculum also teaches social-emotional skills that help children develop inner strength and self awareness that is essential for coping with the challenges of the 21st Century.
