Position: Family Camp Lifeguard

August 5-9th, 2026 | 4-5 days | ~3-4 hours per day

About School of Wonder: We have been creating immersive, nature-based learning experiences in New York City since 2017. Our Wonder Kids embark on imaginative adventures guided by Gaia (Mother Earth), developing curiosity, creativity, and care for the planet. Since 2025 we have started running a Family Camp Upstate for our community, in an Girl Scout camp by a wonderful lake, called Hidden Lake.

The Role: We are seeking a certified lifeguard to oversee water safety at a 5-day family-oriented retreat located at a summer camp for approximately 45 people (~15 of them kids). The lifeguard will be responsible for monitoring swimming and boating at the lake for 3-4 hours per day. The lifeguard will ensure that all guests follow safety rules, and can respond to emergencies as needed.

A valid lifeguard certification and CPR/First Aid certification are required for this position.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about the great outdoors and enjoys working in a fun, family-centered environment.

Location: The family retreat will be held at Hidden Lake Girl Scout Camp, Lake Luzerne, NY

Calendar: August 5th-9th. Approximate hours: 2 to 6pm.

Budget: According to experience.
